San Francisco, Sep 9 : Tech giant Google has announced it is adding a number of new features -including Nearby Share to aid users in staying productive, stay in touch with loved ones, and share entertainment across multiple devices.The company stated it Nearby Share lets users quickly and securely share files among nearby Android phones tablets, phones and Chromebooks regardless of whether they’re videos or photos, or even entire folders.
“In the coming weeks, you’ll be able to utilize Nearby Share to effortlessly transfer files between your devices” Scott Blanksteen, Senior Director, Product Management, Android stated in an announcement.
“Just choose Android devices that are connected to your Google account from the sharing menu to easily transfer the files.
Once you’ve selected to sign in transfers between devices that you own are automatically accepted even if the screen is not on,” Blanksteen added.
The company stated that it has recently launched new design and updated Google Workspace apps for larger screens.
Now, it continues to optimize users’ favorite Google apps for tablets to make multitasking a breeze, beginning with revamped widgets for Google Drive and Keep.
“With the latest version of its Google Drive widget, three home screen buttons now provide single-touch access to the Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Sheets files,” Google said.
“And in Google Keep, the larger widget with a bigger font make note-taking, lists of tasks, and reminders simple to find,” it added.
The company has added a variety of brand new Emoji Kitchen mashups, available as stickers on Gboard.
To connect people Google said it is also introducing new experiences for sharing in Google Meet.
“With live sharing that allow you to instantly share YouTube video clips and play games with up 100 family and friends members at once,” the company said.
“So even if you’re separated from each other, you can still have traditions such as movies and game evenings.This feature is now rolling out to Android tablets and phones,” it added.
