Gurugram 30 August : More than two dozen members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which includes the ex-president of Gurugram district Mahesh Yadav (sarpanch) joined the BJP on Tuesday.The AAP members joined the saffron-colored party at “Gurukamal” – the local office of the BJP – in the presence of the state president Om Prakash Dhankhar.
“All of these workers, who were unhappy with the policies of AAP and AAP, have joined the BJP and in the future they will work on behalf of the BJP and serve the people,” Dhankhar told the media.
Dhankhar on Tuesday hosted an organizational meeting of officials of the party from Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Jhajjar and Nuh districts at Gurukamal.
In the course of the meeting, he set a goal for officials to include one-third of the family members of the state in the BJP family prior to the 2024 elections.
“While BJP is an organisationally strong party, everyone who is affiliated with it should strive to make it stronger,” he said.
