Seoul 25 August : South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s approval ratings have increased to over 30 percent, according to according to a poll released Thursday in an indication that his approval ratings could be recovering following an overhaul of his staff and his promise to better listen to his constituents.In the survey of 1,001 people across the country conducted by pollsters Embrain Public Kstat Research, Korea Research and Hankook Research from Monday to Wednesday, 32 percent said they were satisfied of his work performance, up four percentage points from two weeks prior.
Yoon’s approval score, which was hovering at more than 40 percent in June, dropped to the 30 percent range in July, and dropped to 28 percent in the second week of August, according to Yonhap News Agency.
The disapproval rating fell 2 percentage points , to 63 percent in the same time frame.
Yoon who started his tenure with approval ratings of approximately 50 percent but saw it plummet due to a controversial policy and criticisms of his personal selections for the presidency as well as for the government.
In a press conference to mark his 100th day in office the President said he will honor the public’s opinion and investigate the many issues that have been brought up.
