Abu Dhabi, November 20, : .Tom Moores and Andre Russell struck nine sixes together in their 94-run partnership.
This helped the Deccan Gladiators reach a total score of 146/3 overs.Ravi Bopara and Angelo Perera both scored half-centurys in the reply innings for The Chennai Braves.
However, they were unable to achieve their goal as their innings fell by 24 runs.By dismissing Mohammad Shahzad (29 balls) and Bhanuka Jayapaksa (26) in their first over, Captain Wahab Riaz established the tone for Deccan Gladiators.
Perera scored 60 runs in 29 balls and Bopara ran 51 runs in 26 balls to keep The Chennai Braves alive.However, the team couldn’t score at the necessary rate.
Odean Smith took out Perera and Bopara with 34 runs remaining in the over and secured two points for the Deccan Gladiators.
Andre Russell scored 43 runs in 17 balls and Tom Moores ran 47 runs in 17 balls to make the Deccan Gladiators reach a massive total of 217 runs after 10 innings.
Russell and Moores put together a partnership totaling 94 runs after the first burst of Tom Banton’s innings, which saw him score 24 runs using 11 balls.
In the seventh over, the big-hitting Russell set off fireworks when he hit Samiullah Shinwari with two sixes as well as a four.Dhananjaya’s bowling was beaten by Russell and Moores in the following over.Moores crushed Curtis Campher with two sixes (and two fours) to give the Deccan Gladiators another huge over.
Their score was 137/3 by the end of their ninth over.Moores scored another six off Ravi Bopara’s bowling in the final over, which pushed the Deccan Gladiators’ score up to 146/3
