Many Indian professionals living in the United States have been waiting for years for a green card to be granted permanent residency in the United States.Everyone is happy to know that just under 5,000 is enough for those who are eligible and waiting for a green card.
The House of Representative Judiciary Committee has drafted a key bill.As of 2020, 7.40 lakh Indians have been waiting for more than a year to qualify for a green card.
But if the latest US bill is passed, all those who have completed two years from the priority date will have to pay a 5,000 supplementary fee to get their green card.
The bill would also allow green card aspirants.Those in the EB5 category who expect green cards would be eligible for a green card if they invest about 50,000.Looks like the card can be obtained.However, experts say that if the bill is passed first by the House of Representatives, as well as by the Senate, it will be signed by the next president, Biden’s.
