Ramallah, November 18th : , Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, discussed the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict with Linda Thomas-Greenfield who is the US Ambassador to UN.

According to the President, the Envoy was informed by the Head of State that Ramallah’s leadership rejects Israel’s decision not to label six Palestinian nongovernmental organisations terrorist organizations.

In the statement, he also stated that he had told Thomas-Greenfield about the Palestinian rejection of Israeli policies in East Jerusalem.

Abbas reiterated the Palestinian side’s resolve to peaceful negotiations and called for an international conference on peace under the auspices the international Quartet.

This group includes the United Nations, Russia, and the European Union.

The Ambassador sent a tweet following the meeting: “Today, I met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abdulbas.The two of us discussed the rebuilding of the US-Palestinian relations, UNRWA’s commitments and the importance to respect human rights.We also agreed to work together towards a two-state solution.

After nine months of direct talks, the US sponsored them.In 2014, deep divisions over issues related to security, Jewish settlements and borders led to the end of peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine.
