Srinagar 5 August : The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday denied that any leader of National Conference or the PDP were placed under house arrest.Police have said that there is an untrue report that certain NC as well as PDP leaders are put under house arrest.
“This information is completely untrue.There are additional police officers stationed on Gupkar road in certain areas in the light of certain security-related information,” a police official said.
“Ms Nehbooba Mufti visited her party’s headquarters at noon and Dr Farooq Abdullah visited Hazratbal shrine and his companion in Shalimar region in the late afternoon.Media members are advised to confirm information from authorities prior to distributing.JKP is a police force that is professional.”
In the past on, the National Conference on Friday tweeted: “Farooq Abdullah has been placed under house arrest since return from Nawai-Subha where he had presided over the meeting and declared that ‘We will fight for peacefully our rights that were unlawfully removed, in violation of the Constitution, and without democratic legitimacy from us on the 5th of August 2019, 2019’.”
