The Telangana state government has announced huge subsidies for oil palm cultivation in the state.The Cabinet also decided to mobilize farmers to cultivate oil palm on 20 lakh acres, for which the state govt provides Rs 36,000 crore subsidy in phases.
With the Cabinet decision, oil palm cultivation in the state is likely to increase significantly.The Cabinet suggested that several government departments should be involved in oil palm cultivation.
The Cabinet meeting, which lasted for about fourteen and half hours over two days at Pragati Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister KCR, took more than 15 decisions on various issues.As a part of this, the Cabinet approved the design of a job calendar for job placements annually.
The state govt decided to allocate jobs district-wise as per the new zoning policy.
Also, the state cabinet approved Telangana State Food Processing Policy and Logistics Policy.
CM KCR ordered the concerned officials to give details of the total number of employees, and the number of job vacancies in the state within 5 days.
On the other hand, the state govt has also decided to do layouts through landpooling in towns.
The Cabinet set up a sub-committee to decide on establishing new industries, Agriculture Development, Grain Storage, Milling, and Marketing.
