New Delhi, Aug 31 : A Delhi Court on Wednesday issued summonses to actress Jacqueline Fernandez to appear before it on September 26 in an investigation into extortion allegations that involves conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.The news came following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) named her in an Rs 200 crore money laundering probe.
In the wake of the second chargesheet supplementary submitted by the ED Special Judge Parveen Singh of the Patiala House Court ordered the actress for a court appearance on the 26th of September.
A full order will be available later in the day.
Recently the ED had taken some of Jacqueline’s fixed deposits , claiming that they had affected funds.The agency filed a second chargesheet supplementary on 17 August in the case of the actress.
The agency investigating the case had linked Jacqueline’s FDs worth around Rs 7.2 crore, and classified them as the proceeds of criminal activity.
In February the ED had filed its first additional prosecution claim against Pinky Irani, who is alleged to be an aid of Chandrashekhar who introduced her to Bollywood actresses.
Pinky used to select expensive presents for Jacqueline and later drop them off at her home after the money was received by Chandrashekhar according to the chargesheet.
In December of last year, the ED had issued the first chargesheet in this case.Chandrashekhar reportedly spent about 20 crore on presents for models and Bollywood stars, but was rejected by a handful of them.
Jacqueline has confessed that she received extravagant gifts from Chandrashekhar.
