Army rescues Israeli national in Ladakh

Srinagar 31 August : The Army on Wednesday night rescued the life of an Israeli national in the Nimaling Camp area near Markha Valley in Ladakh, an official from the Defence Ministry spokesperson said.
The spokesperson stated that the 114 Helicopter Unit received a request for a casualty evacuation earlier in the daytime.

“Atar Kahana suffered from high altitude sickness that included vomiting as well as low oxygen saturation.From the front the Flt Cdr 114 Hu and Wg Cdr Ashish Kapoor, and Flt Lt Rhythm Mehra as No.1, and the Sqn Ldr Neha Singh and Sqn Ldr Ajinkya Kher as No 2 took off in just a few minutes, to perform this crucial mission.” the spokesperson said.

“Following the fastest route, the rescue aircraft arrived at the scene in just 20 minutes of flight time and located the victim at the Gongmaru La pass at an elevation of 16,800 feet.The No.1 aircrew made an extensive search and then landed on the pass with the assistance of No.2.They retrieved the casualty on the pass in the stormy weather conditions.

“The victim was retrieved quickly within the time limit of one hour at Air Force Station Leh,” the spokesperson added.
