Actress Aditi Rao Hydari Talks About Talent Utilisation by South Indian Filmmakers

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has commented on her Pan-India career, saying that she has heard people say that her talent is better utilised by South Indian filmmakers than by Bollywood directors.

Despite appearing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films, Aditi has had fewer Hindi opportunities than others.

However, Aditi said that this doesn’t bother her.Naseeruddin Shah, who is co-starring with Aditi in the upcoming series Taj-Divided By Blood, feels that the scenario will change soon.

Aditi made her debut with the Malayalam film Prajapathi in 2006 and went on to appear in several Hindi films.She caught people’s attention when she collaborated with Mani Ratnam for his film, Kaatru Veliyidai, followed by Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

During a recent interview, Aditi was asked if she feels Hindi filmmakers have not been able to make the most of her potential as those in the South.She replied that she has heard this comment a lot.She further explained that when she started as an actor, her dream was to be a Mani Ratnam heroine.She knew she had to speak Tamil as that is his language, and he would be happiest making a Tamil film.

She realised that language, caste, religion, nothing comes in the way of a story.As per her, a story is about feelings and how it makes you feel a certain way.They can do that in any Indian language.

Aditi will be seen next in ‘Taj:Divided By Blood’, a 10-part family drama series, where she plays the role of Anarkali, and Naseeruddin Shah appears as Mughal emperor Akbar.The series will be released on March 3 on Zee5.
