New Delhi, Aug 17 : In the past 24 hours, India logged 9,062 new Covid-19 cases.This is a significant reduction from the 15,040 infections that were reported the previous day the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.In the same time frame there were an additional 36 deaths, bringing the total Covid death toll to 5,27,134.
The active caseload has also decreased to 1,05,058, averaging 0.24 percent of the all positive cases.
The recuperation of 15220 patients in the last 24 hours increased the total number to 4,365,54,064.Thus, India’s rate of recovery is 98.57 percent.
While the daily positive rate fell to 2.49 percent while the weekly rate was 4.38 per cent.
Additionally, in the same time frame in the same time frame, there were a total of 364 038 tests were run across the country, bringing the total to more than 88.10 crore.
As of Wednesday morning, India’s vaccination coverage surpassed 208.57 crore, achieved through 2,77,24,081 sessions
More than 3.98 million adolescents have been given with the initial dose of Covid-19 since the beginning of vaccination drives for this age group.
