Gandhi addressed the large gathering at Jaipur, during the protest against inflation and price rise.
He said that Gandhi was a Hindu, but not Hindutvawadi.
He explained the differences between them by saying: “Two different words cannot be the same thing.” Each word can have a different meaning. The meanings of Hindutva and Hindutva in our current politics are identical.
They are different terms and have completely different meanings. While I’m a Hindu, my identity is not one of the Hindutvawadis.Mahatma Gandhi, a Hindu, and Nathuram Gose, a Hindutvawadi were both among them.”
His stance won praise from suspended Congress leader Sanjay Jha, who said: “Rahul Gandhi is doing the right thing. He is exploding the faux politics of the BJP.It is time to tell the people of India the truth.A sustained campaign of exposing BJP’s divide and rule game-plan will change things.”
