Hyderabad, Dec 5, : .The Supreme Court-appointed inquiry committee investigating the gang-rape-murder of four suspects, was in Chatanpally on Sunday.

It is where the suspects were shot to death by police two-years ago.
The probe of the three-member judicial panel, whose investigation is believed to be in its final stage, was conducted at Chatanpally, 50 km from Hyderabad.

V.S.V.S.Kaarthikeyan visited the open fields where the four men accused of raping or murdering her were found dead in an alleged encounter on December 6, 2019.They also visited the underpass on the national highway, where the victim’s charred remains were found on November 27, 2019.

During the commission’s visit at Shadnagar Police Station, some local residents protested.They raised slogans against the investigation and justified the killings.

Protesters gathered on the street in front of the police station, waving slogans such as “Sirpurkar Commission Go Back”.The police dispersed all protestors.

During the commission’s visit, elaborate security arrangements were made.

The panel will also inspect the open plot located near Tondupally Toll Plaza on the outskirts Hyderabad.

This is where the veterinarian was allegedly raped, and then killed.

The proceedings were started in August and completed last month.

It is expected to submit a report on February 2, 2022 to the Supreme Court.

The commission interviewed many witnesses, police officers and relatives of the four victims.

It also recorded statements from key police officers, including V.C.Cyberabad, the then Cyberabad police chief.Surender Reddy, the investigation officer, Sajjanar, and Special Investigation Team (SIT), chief and Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bagwat, and Prakash Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The panel was established on December 12, 2019, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder of the four accused.

The four suspects were shot to death at Chatanpally, on the National Highway-44 near Hyderabad.

This is the same highway where the charred body (or victim) of a 27-year-old Disha was found.

According to police, Disha was sexually assaulted and kidnapped near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), on the outskirts Hyderabad on November 27, 2019.

The accused then killed Disha, took her body to Chatanpally, and set it ablaze.

The Supreme Court created the panel while hearing petitions that raised doubts about the police killing the accused in custody.

It also projected the encounter as a meeting.
