Somali PM appoints new minister for foreign affairs

Mogadishu : , Nov 21 : , The Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Roble appointed his new foreign affairs minister and deputy as part of a small reshuffle in the cabinet.
Roble, who released a statement in Mogadishu to appoint Abdisaid Muse Ali (current chief of staff in presidency) as new foreign minister.

He replaces Mohamed Abdirizak, who was sworn into office on November 25, 2020.Xinhua news agency reports.

Ali was a former national security adviser to President Obama and was also formerly regional political advisor for the European Union Special Representative to the Horn of Africa.

Mohamud Hassan was also appointed by the Prime Minister as deputy minister for foreign affairs.

Roble replaced 2 ministers: Mohamed Aden Maalim was made minister of Livestock, while Hussein Mohamed Sheikh Hussein became minister for Public Works, Housing, and Reconstruction.

There was no reason to change the situation, even though the country is currently in an election period.
