New Delhi, Aug 31 : Odisha is one of the fastest-growing economies in India and has been consistently growing over the average for the nation in the past decade and a half the chief minister Naveen Patnaik stated on Wednesday.
The state is now emerging as a major industrial hub in eastern India due to of its resource advantages and strategic geographical location, Patnaik said while speaking at an investor’s meet and curtain-raiser function for the “Make in Odisha Conclave 2022′ here.

Patnaik was in contact with ambassadors from more than 30 countries as well as more than 50 delegates, from various industries across India at the event.

“Over the past twenty years, my administration has been focused on harnessing these natural advantages by advancing policy, efficient administration and technological innovations,” he stated.

Patnaik has invited foreign dignitaries in the Make in Odisha Conclave as the partner nation of Odisha.The conclave will take place in Bhubaneswar on November 30, until December 4, 2022.

The Chief Minister has assured them of the full cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Odisha Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb discussed the investment opportunities in handloom, textile chemicals, petrochemicals, food processing, IT/ITeS and ESDM industries in Odisha.

“Odisha’s industrial expansion in the past two decades has focused on forming a highly skilled workforce.With over 200 engineering schools and 1,000 ITIs that we have created the best skilled workforce in the nation,” Deb claimed.

The state government recently created an World Skill Centre (WSC) which is a top advanced skill training institution according to the minister.

“In the interest of fully utilizing the potential of entrepreneurs and youth in the state, we’ve started “Startup Odisha” with the goal of encouraging young people to contribute to the development, innovation and the improvement of products, processes as well as services” he said.

Odisha Chief Secretary of Odisha S.C.Mahapatra said, “Today, Odisha is the largest producer of steel stainless steel, aluminum in India.We are emerging as a leading force in areas such as chemicals and petrochemicals clothing and textiles IT and ITeS food processing, and many more.”

Mahapatra explained that the annual Make in Odisha Conclave was launched in 2016 and witnessed an attendance of 18,500 people and a total of more than 120 investment intentions valued at more than 2 lakh crore.

In 2018 The state hosted the 2nd edition that was attended by 45,000 people and received investments of over 4 lakh crores, he said.
