Panaji 10 Aug : Just hours after Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced his decision to sign an MoU with Isha Outreach in order to “Save Soil” The Congress this week demanded the draft of the MoU be made public prior to signing it in order to ensure transparency. “The Goa people of Goa have lost faith in the BJP government, whose every move can be seen as a threat to the interests of Goa.Goa residents of Goa are entitled to know the exact function of Isha Foundation in the agricultural sector as well as the coast of Goa as declared by the Chief Minister.There must be total transparency,” Congress state working president and Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao said.
Sawant during the daytime of Wednesday stated that with an aim to save the beaches and soil of the state the Goa government will sign an Memorandum of Understanding with ‘Isha Outreach’ of Sadhguru Jagadish Vasudev on the 23rd of August.
“The BJP government has already sold the river Mhadei to Karnataka and the Western Ghats as well as the coastline to corrupt capitalists to gain political gain.Now , Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant says that the government will sign an agreement with Isha Foundation with focus on Agriculture and Coasts.I would like the Chief Minister to publish the draft agreement prior to signing it,” Alemao asked.
He stated that it is important that decisions on policy are made following discussions in the cabinet sessions, and also taking opposition parties in confidence.
“I am concerned that this government will hand over the agricultural land that is cultivable and the beautiful Goan beaches to an organization to establish their own centre in Goa.We must be extremely attentive and vigilant about each step of the administration,” Yuri Alemao said.
