An Indian descent manager has been jailed in Singapore over allegations of bribery.Proof that the accused paid a bribe of S 33,513 to an Assistant Engineer of a Government Agency for the smooth running of his project.
A Singapore court on Monday sentenced him to seven months in prison.
The accused was identified as Ganishan Supayya (52).
He was found guilty of bribing Public Utilities Board (PUB) Assistant Engineer Jamaluddin Mohammed.News Asia Channel reports that Jamaluddin forged a fake invoice for him.

Ganishan oversaw the procurement of materials, human resources and equipment management for the project.

Works as Assistant Engineer in Network Restoration Division, PUB Water Supply Department.Jamaluddin oversees water diversion work by PUB term contractors and subcontractors on third party sites.
In this order Ganishan was approached by Jamaluddin.He asked for a bribe in the name of "supervision fee" to help facilitate the work of the project.Ganishan responded.
He agreed to pay 2 to 5 per cent of the amount on the Pipeworks Invoices billed to the major contractors, depending on the duration of the work.
Jamaluddin, on the other hand, set up a company to receive money through false invoices.According to the channel, Ganishan paid 45,169 to Jamaluddin between November 2017 and 2018.
However, the officer on Ganishan was not aware of the fake invoices.The Singapore Anti-Corruption Bureau (CPI (M)) investigation has revealed that Jamaluddin also tried to get a 500,000 bribe from the company that submitted the bid for the PUB tender in 2019.
Investigators confirm that Ganishan conspired with Jamaluddin to make false invoices.
