Panaji, 28 Dec : .Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, managed to win a majority at the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections because of an accident.
She campaigned using a wheelchair, said Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister for Social Justice.
In Goa, Union Minister of State said also that BJP won 77 West Bengal seats and had not lost state assembly elections.Banerjee could not claim victory.
“Mamata Banerjee succeeded (in West Bengal). She was congratulated by PM and me.People who win in democracy must be congratulated. This was a great success.Mamata Banerjee was in an accident while on her wheel chair. This is why she won a huge success.BJP had lost 99 seats in the election, a margin that was 500-1000 to 2000 votes,” Athawale stated at a Panaji press conference.
The reason BJP got fewer seats was because Left Front and Congress did not receive any votes. All votes were cast for Mamata Banerjee, TMC, and BJP received fewer votes.
Otherwise, BJP could have won between 180 and 190 seats.BJP currently holds 77 seats.
He also stated that BJP did not lose and Mamata won.
Athawale was accompanied by Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of India and Sadanand Shet Tanavade, the president of state BJP, and announced his support for the Republican Party of India to become the party’s ruling party in 2022.
RPI will join the BJP in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur.RPI in Goa will not nominate a candidate. They will be supporting BJP in each of the 40 constituencies. This decision has been made by the state committee of my party.Athawale stated that BJP must be elected here, and RPI would support the BJP fully.”
