Yaounde : , Three students and one teacher were killed in an attack on a government school located in Cameroon’s war-torn Anglophone area of Southwest.According to local authorities, the attackers were not identified.According to Xinhua news, Timothe Aboloa, the Divisional Officer for Ekondo Titit, the assailants stormed Government Bilingual High School, Ekondo Titi, on Wednesday while students were studying.
The attack resulted in the deaths of three students, namely Emmanuel Orume (12 years old), Joyceline Iken (16 years), Kum Emmanuel (17 year) and Celestina Fien (a French language teacher).
The attack has not been claimed by anyone.
Two weeks ago, an explosive device that had been thrown onto the roof of a lecture room in the region left at least 11 students with injuries.
Since 2017, separatists have clashed with government forces in a bid for an independent nation called “Ambazonia” in Cameroon’s two Anglophone regions Northwest and Southwest.
