The state government told the high court that the committee was set up as per the directions of the high court to decide the movie ticket rates.Advocate General (AG) S Sriram told the High Court on behalf of the government that the committee had already met once and would meet again soon.
As the rates are likely to be clarified in the first week of February, the trial was asked to be adjourned by then.The High Court adjourned the case till February 10.
The bench of Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Mallavolu Satyanarayanamurthy passed the order on Monday.It is already known that the state government has filed an appeal against G.O.35 issued by the government finalizing the movie ticket rates before the bench requesting that the prices could be fixed in the same manner as earlier.
The Court, which heard the case last week, directed the theatre owners to finalize ticket prices only after consulting the joint collectors.The court heard the appeal on Monday, while AG Sriram told the bench that a committee has been set up to finalize the ticket rates.
Lawyer V V Satish said that the court orders to finalize the ticket prices after consulting the join collectors were not being implemented, to which AG Sriram responded stating that the joint collectors would be instructed to take applications for the same.
