Azamgarh (UP) Azamgarh (UP), Aug 22 : Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday visited Azamgarh to meet with SP MLA Ramakant Yadav who is lodged in jail.Ramakant Yadav is in jail in various instances, among them the fake liquor scandal.
Since MLAs are the main element in Azamgarh, Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting with his is being tied to 2024’s Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to reporters following his meeting with Ramakant Yadav Akhilesh Yadav stated that the BJP government was deliberately involving SP officials in fraudulent cases.
He stated that the matter in which he was imprisoned in over 20 years ago.
The conversation between Akhilesh Yadav and Ramakant Yadav took about an hour.
Akhilesh Yadav’s absence in the Lok Sabha by-elections in June was heavily criticized because Azamgarh was the SP chief’s seat in Parliament prior to when he quit in March of this year.
Akhilesh Yadav had endorsed his brother Dharmendra Yadav as his candidate for the party, but the latter was defeated by the BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua.
