Thiruvananthapuram August 27, : The Congress party in Kerala on Saturday sought to learn the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vjayan the reason the Home Minister Amit Shah was invited as the ‘chief guest’ at the famous Nehru Trophy Boat Race scheduled to take place on the beautiful Vembanad lake in Alappuzha on September 4.Opposition Leader of the Opposition V.
D.Satheesan said that, in the midst of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, sitting Kollam Lok Sabha member N.K.Premachandran was criticized by the CPI-M for inviting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Kollam by-pass.
“He was called an Sanghi and was under attack by the CPI-M.Now Vijayan has invited Shah to be the main guest at the Nehru boat race.
We would like to hear his explanation as to what prompted he did this? Was it due to the fact of the coming Lavalin case that is scheduled to go before the apex court in the near future and in addition due to of the many allegations that have surfaced against him in the gold smuggling case?” asked Satheesan.
“Things are quite clear that Vijayan during the daytime, takes an anti-BJP stance.
When the evening comes around, he is a friend of the Sangh Parivar forces.
“We have also previously mentioned that Kerala CPI-M has strong connections with the Sangh parivar forces that are based in Delhi.Please clarify this CM Vijayan,” added Satheesan.
Senior Lok Sabha member K.Muraleedharan also criticised Vijayan in a statement, saying that Vijayan is the Kerala Chief Minister is fond of “licking the legs” of Sangh Parivar leaders.
Vijayan will, however, take the stage with Modi on September 2.Modi is scheduled to arrive in Kochi to officially launch INS Vikrant.
