Geneva 26 Aug : The amount of new cases of monkeypox has decreased across the globe according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
In the week that ran from August 15 to 21 There were 21 percent less instances as in the week before, the dpa news agency reported the world health body as declaring in an announcement on Thursday.

“This decrease could be a sign of early indications of declining cases in the European region, but this will need to be later verified,” said the statement.

The European Region includes 53 countries that belong to the EU to Turkey, Turkmenistan, Russia and Israel.

The North and South America region, however the number of people living there increased.

In the world, 5,907 cases were reported in the last week, compared with 7,477 in the week prior to.

In total, 11 deaths and 41,600 infections were reported to WHO from more than 96 countries since the start of this year.

At present the US has the most number of cases, which is 15,877.
