Panama City, December 29, : , Panama has registered 17 additional cases of Omicron Covid-19 cases, which brings the total to 26 according to the Ministry of Health.According to the Gorgas Memorial Institute for Health Studies (Ministry), the new Omicron cases included 11 women and 6 men aged between 24 and 60.
According to Xinhua, the cases were found in Panama City’s metro area, San Miguelito, Panama province and in Panama Oeste.
The Ministry stated that none of these patients needed hospitalization and added they had been kept in isolation ever since their positive test.
On December 20, a man aged 50 was the first to be diagnosed with this variant in Central America.
Health authorities say that all of the infected people had been to South Africa or Colombia and Spain.
