Panaji, Aug 27 : Goa Governor P.S.Sreedharan Pillai said on Saturday that the people are the most important factor in the system of democracy of the country , and as such the state machinery is committed to serve them.Pillai on Saturday, interacted with the people of Salcete Taluka in South Goa.
“People are the supreme in the system of democracy of the nation, which is why the government machinery is designed to serving the citizens,” Pillai said.
He declared that Goa is on the verge of become a self-sufficient state.
“The Raj Bhavan will extend support to help achieve the target,” he said.
He said that as a part of the ‘Sampurna Goa Yatra The yatra covered 71 different kinds of institutions like orphanages, social services centres across the state were protected and 421 dialysis sufferers have been provided with financial aid.
The governor also stated that to date, he has covered 60 percent of villages as component of Goa Sampurna Yatra.
