KCR will lose power for not discussing Public issues in Assembly : Eatala Rajender

Addressing a press conference, he said, this year the budget session was conducted only for 11 days.

The monsoon session was held for three days, except for one day that was allocated for discussing condolence motions, he said, adding that the Assembly session was conducted only for 14 days this year.

In the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, the budget session was conducted for 45 days from 15 February to 31 March while the monsoon and winter sessions were conducted for 15 days each.

The state government in united Andhra Pradesh used to conduct the entire legislative sessions for 65 days a year with the objective to discuss policy decisions and make good laws, providing better administration.

But the ruling BRS government has conducted the session for only 14 days, prompting MLAs to be in villages and criticising other parties, apart from filing cases against the leaders of other parties and putting them in jail.

“Chandrashekar Rao always says that his government is ready to discuss issues for any number of days without any objection. However, the people should think as to why he (Chandrashekar Rao) conducted the Assembly session for less number of days,” Rajender said.

In united Andhra Pradesh, there were 13 to 14 parties in the Assembly and the elected representatives from all the parties were called to the meetings of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), he said.

He said that though Jayaprakash Narayan and the current Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy were the only MLAs from their party, they were invited for the BAC meeting in united Andhra Pradesh.

But, today there are only four parties — the BRS, the AIMIM, the Congress, and the BJP, Rajender said.

The BJP is a national party, which is in power in several states but the ruling BRS government does not inviting the BJP for the BAC meeting in the Assembly, he added.

Rajender also took strong exception to the BRS government for failing to allocate room for the BJP MLAs in the Assembly

“Rooms are not provided for us even after pleading several times.Should we stand outside the gates?” Rajender asked.
