Brasilia (12 Dec 2012) Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court has ordered that foreigners entering Brazil must present certificates proving that they are fully immunized against COVID-19.According to Xinhua, the decision was taken at the request by the Brazilian party Sustainability Network in light of the Federal Government’s recent decision to let unvaccinated persons enter the country after a five-day quarantine.
On Saturday, the STF policy was in effect.
Brazil required that a positive PCR test be passed before it could enter.
Over 65 percent of Brazil’s population have been fully immunized against Covid-19.
Brazil is among the hardest-hit countries by the pandemic globally, ranking second only after the US in terms of deaths, and third in terms of overall cases after the US and India.
As of Sunday morning, the country’s overall caseload and death toll stood at 22,177,059 and 616,457.
