Cyclone Gulab: 26,000 evacuated, 1358 shifted to relief centers in Srikakulam

Srikakulam District Collector Srikesh B Lathakar said that all kinds of relief measures have been taken in the areas prone to the effect of the Gulab cyclone across the district.On this occasion, District Collector Srikesh B Lathakar said that 61 centres have been set up in 13 cyclone-affected zones across the district.

The District Collector explained that 1358 people have already been shifted to 38 relief centres.They are provided with the medical, meals, and other arrangements.

Also, 26,000 people were evacuated in the Srikakulam district, says the district collector.Bandaruvaripeta Zilla Parishad High School in the Srikakulam district has rehabilitated 500 people.

The collector said that the information received that a house in Makannapuram in the Sompeta zone and an electrical pole on Kasibugga Harijan street were damaged.He said that fallen trees across the roads in many places would be removed immediately.

The collector said the complete details of the cyclone effect were yet to be known from the officials.

On the other hand, the Indian Railways officials have announced that several trains have been diverted due to cyclone Gulab and others are being rescheduled.
