India needs six wickets in order to win their first test against South Africa.South Africa is at stumps today, scoring 94 runs in 40.5 overs.They still need 211 runs for victory on day 5.The final session ended with Dean Elgar, Keegan Petersen and a boundary.Mohammed Siraj struck Petersen on the knee-roll in the thirteenth over.
India was not out and took the umpire’s decision to save him.Siraj got Petersen to swing with him in his next over.This squared him up, and he took Rishabh’s edge.
Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah received a few boosts, which left Elgar like a cat under a hot roof.
He was able to resist everything that came his way.Elgar and Rassie van den Dussen were both steadfast in their 40-run partnership that saw them score 137 runs for the third wicket.Bumrah’s nip-backer was unable to reach the top of off-stump and van der Dussen took his arm, ending a stand that had been stubborn.
Elgar continued to march with his half-century, bringing Siraj a straight leg.Day four was closed by Bumrah with an excellent yorker that rattled Keshav Maharaj, nightwatchman.
