New Delhi, Sep 6 : India opener Shubman Gill on Tuesday felicitated the former India batter Suresh Raina for his “invaluable” contribution to the game of cricketer.Gill’s remarks came just after Raina has announced on Tuesday that he will not play any form of cricket.
Gill posted a post on the homegrown social media site, Koo App, said Raina’s contribution to cricket is significant and wished the southpaw the best luck in the “second innings”.
“Your contribution to the sport of cricket is a huge contribution.
Good luck with your second wicket @ImRaina Bhai,” Gill said on the Koo app.
A few years earlier, Raina had praised Gill for his fierce performance in the semi-final of the World Cup for Under-19s.
In the year 2020 Raina has announced his decision to retire from international cricket in the wake of M.S Dhoni’s retirement announcement.
The left-handed batsman played for India in over 300 international matches in his career that spanned thirteen years.
The stylish batter played his first international match in the match against Sri Lanka in 2005.He played in 226 ODIs, scoring 5615 runs.
Raina is now playing with Indian Legends in the second season of the Road Safety World Series.
