Popular Character Artist Jaya Prakash Reddy Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Popular villain-turned-comedian Jaya Prakash Reddy passed away on Tuesday at his home in Guntur. He reportedly collapsed in his bathroom and died with Cardiac arrest today early morning at his residence.

Jaya Prakash Reddy was born in Sirvel, Kurnool on 10th October 1946, and made his film debut, when he was in his 40s, with Venkatesh and Rajani’s 1988 film ‘Brahma Puthrudu‘.He is the teacher by profession and also the theater artist before entering into the films.

The actor has made a big name for himself in the Telugu Film Industry with a wide variety of roles but amassed special recognition and fans due to his Rayalaseema dialect in the dialogue delivery in many of the hit films like ‘Preminchukundam Raa’ and ‘Samara Simha Reddy’ in the late ’90s.

Tributes poured in on Twitter right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to popular actors like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh Daggubati, Mahesh Babu, Prakash Raj, Jr NTR, SS Rajamouli, Sudheer Babu, Genelia D’Souza, Kajal Aggarwal, Satyadev Kancharana, and other actors and filmmakers.

He went on to play numerous memorable roles in movies such as ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddana‘, ‘Dhee’, ‘Ready’, and ‘Kick’ to name a few.He was last seen in the film ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru‘ which has Mahesh Babu playing the lead role.JP balanced both his villain and comedy roles with his mark.Extending deepest condolences to the actor’s family, may his soul rest in peace.
