Indian Railways being a giant organization has an exclusive budget presentation.But from now on i.e.2017 Railway Budget will be presented along with General Budget.
Union Finance Minister Shri.Arun Jaitley approved the proposal moved by Railway Minister Shri.Suresh Prabhu for making a unified financial budget.This ends 92 years old practice of exclusive Railway Budget.
In fact Finance Ministry instructed a committee comprising of five members to be submit a report on merging of both Railway Budget and General Budget.Report was given to the Ministry, in turn its approved.
Suresh stated that this pattern will be useful to India as well as Railways.Prime Minister Shri.
Narendra Modi is strategically moving ahead with developmental and reformation plans.As a part of this, General Budget and Railway Budget merger will be very useful.
No favors will be entertained by this system.
