Washington, December 28, 2008 : .The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shortened the time it takes to isolate Americans with Covid-19.
It was previously 10 days. Now it is five days. The CDC released a Monday statement stating that “Given the current knowledge about Covid-19, and the Omicron variant of Covid-19, CDC will reduce the time recommended for isolation to 10 days for those with Covid-19, then 5 days if asymptomatic followed by 5 days wearing a mask around other people,” on Monday.
Science has shown that most SARS-CoV-2 infection occurs in early stages of the illness. This is consistent with the CDC’s findings.
According to the US Health Agency, “People who have tested positive for HIV should be isolated for five days.
If they are still symptomatic, they will need to remain in isolation for another 5 days.
The CDC also revised its recommendations for Covid-19-infected persons.
CDC suggests that people are quarantined for 5 days if they are not vaccinated, or have been exposed to Covid-19 for more than 6 months.
The agency said that individuals who received their booster shots do not have to be quarantined after being exposed.
However, they should use a mask for at least 10 days.
The Omicron variant spreads quickly, and could have a devastating impact on all aspects of society.
The CDC has updated its recommendations regarding isolation and quarantine to reflect what we know so far about the spread and protection of vaccines and booster doses.
