San Francisco, December 8, 2008 : Parag Agrawal, the new CEO of Twitter, has stated that his top priority is to improve the company’s execution and streamline the operation of the micro-blogging platform. Agrawal, who was making his first appearance since replacing Jack Dorsey at Tuesday’s Barclays technology conference, stated that the company had “operated previously in a functional structure” where there was a single engineering organization, a single design researcher organisation, and product teams that were grouped into them.
The new CEO of Twitter has already begun to restructure the company, and two top executives have already resigned as part the reorganisation plan.
According to The Verge Agrawal restructured the company under the key pillars Consumer, Revenue and Core Tech.
He stated that he believed they had set them up to allow them to move quickly at the conference.
Along with the three new general mangers, who are Kayvon Belkpour, Bruce Falck and Nick Caldwell, Lindsey Iannucci has been named VP Operations at Twitter.
Agrawal said that Iannucci (She) will help us improve our operational rigour within this new structure to really get to faster decision making and clearer ownership. This will lead to improved operations which will result in faster execution overall, better results.
According to a Washington Post report, Twitter’s Chief Designer Officer Dantley Davis and Head of Engineering Michael Montano have resigned.
Twitter claims that “Parag is focused upon operational excellence and setting Twitter up for its goals, and these changes were made with this in mind.”
He has been with Twitter more than a decade, and has been Chief Technology Officer since 2017.
