Ruling BJP is now the world’s largest party.The BJP had registered 8.8 crore members and beats China’s ruling party CPC.The Communist Party of China(CPC) was until now considered the largest party with about 8.60 crore members.Sources said the bjp party hit the 8.80 crore mark on Sunday and the saffron party expects its membership to cross 10 crore by the end of this month.
Party president Amit Shah will announce the final figure at the national executive to be held in Bangalore on April 3-4.The ambitious membership drive was Shah’s idea.The party introduced a hi-tech system whereby a person can become a BJP member by merely dialing a mobile number.
The party had set a target of enrolling 10 crore members across the country by March 31.PM Modi launched the drive in November by dialing a mobile phone number to renew his membership.The last one crore members were added in merely eight days when the party touched the 8-crore mark on March 23.
