Stockholm, November 18 : .Starting December 1, all people in Sweden must show proof that they have been vaccinated to be allowed to participate indoor large events with more than 100 persons.
This is part of government efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Karin Tegmark Wisell, Director General of the Public Health Agency in the Netherlands stated that the Public Health Agency is now aiming to offer vaccination certificates due to the increasing number of diseases throughout Europe.
Event organizers have the option to opt-out from this requirement, but they will need to take other steps to prevent unvaccinated people being infected.
Although the exact meaning of this change is still unknown, it could mean that people will be required to maintain a certain distance or restrict their numbers in one area.
Lena Hallengren, Minister of Health and Social Affairs said that she expects most organizers to need proof of vaccination.
Public Health Agency also recommended that everyone with symptoms get tested.
Tests are now recommended only for those who have not been vaccinated as of November 1.
As of Thursday, the overall Covid-19 death toll and caseload in Sweden stood at 1,186 387 and 15,075, respectively.
8.3 million people, that is 85.3 percent of those 16 years and older, received at least one dose of vaccines, while 81.7% were fully vaccinated.
