Beirut 10 August : Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has warned Israel not to make any erroneous decisions towards Lebanon in a statement that stresses that the Lebanese party will not slack in its efforts to safeguard Lebanon’s oil and gas resources. “We are extremely committed in the fight for Lebanon’s riches.
We must be prepared for any and all options in the event of Israeli threats,” Nasrallah said on Tuesday in an interview on television to mark Ashura, the Shia sacred day of Ashura and sending a clear signal that Hezbollah is ready to take military action.
He warned his enemies not to make any mistakes with Lebanon as well as its citizens or with the “stronger than ever” resistance in Lebanon regarding the issue of gas and oil or maritime borders Xinhua news agency reported.
Lebanese authorities are working to find an agreement with Israel to resolve the border dispute that has grown more heated since Israel on June 5 , sent a ship to the Karish field which Israel claims is inside its economic zone.Lebanon says it’s in waters that are disputed.
US energy ambassador Amos Hochstein announced earlier in August that he was hopeful about finding an agreement on the maritime disputes between Lebanon and Israel after his visit to both countries.
