New Delhi, 31 December : .The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stated that people should grow a beard but that this is optional, Khaama Press reported.In a tweet, the Ministry directed Taliban associates to not force anyone to grow beards.It said that this was a personal decision.
The report stated that the decision comes as a result of the directives given by the provincial offices to the ministry about preventing shaving and trimming beards in certain provinces.This prompted international and national reactions.
However, in recent directives from the ministry drivers were instructed not to place two female passengers in the front seats and not to sit in any way that would offend women not wearing the Islamic hijab.
Directions also state that women cannot travel solo for longer than 45 miles.
One of the most strict administrations of Taliban is the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, which replaced the Ministry of Women Affairs.It deals with people’s attitude and their physical appearance.
