Currently, it is moving towards the coast at a speed of 18 KMPH.It is likely to travel west-northwest and make landfall on Friday morning near Chennai off the coast of southern Andhra Pradesh and northern Tamil Nadu, Meteorological Department officials said.

Andhra Pradesh is expected to receive light to moderate rains today and tomorrow.Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains, while parts of Krishna and Guntur districts are likely to receive heavy rains.

The officials issued hazardous warnings at the Machilipatnam, Nizampatnam, Krishnapatnam and Vadarevu ports.

At 45 to 55 KMPH along the coast, strong winds of up to 60 KMPH are expected, and the sea is likely to be turbulent, meteorological officials said.Authorities warned fishermen not to go fishing into the sea for the next two days.
