Thiruvananthapuram 31 December : .After fighting for their baby boy’s return, Anupama & Ajith got married after a lengthy battle.
Their son Aden was present at the ceremony. We had filed our paperwork to get legally married several weeks ago and were then asked to travel on the final day in 2021.”We are very happy and we will be even happier today as our son has made us legally married,” Anupama, beaming to the media, said.
We never planned it.After realising that nothing goes as planned, we stopped planning.Anupama stated that the only thing on our agenda is to demonstrate how to live well.
Four days after giving birth to her son in October 2020, her parents forcibly removed it.Then, two state-backed agencies, the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare and the Child Welfare Committee, allowed her to adopt the boy to an Andhra Pradesh couple.
After a media furore, which started in September, the mother was left distraught and action began on her pleas.Anupama has been granted custody of the child.
After DNA testing and confirmation by the local court, the adopted baby was returned to Ajith and Anupama.
Anupama attributed the role of a number of people in the taking away her baby to them.
This included the police and a notary as well as officials associated with the KSCCWC.
Ajith was an active SFI activist, while Anupama was a local leader for the DYFI — the youth organization of the CPI–M.
Anupama’s grandfather was one the most prominent CPI–M leaders in the state’s capital district during the 70’s and 1980’s.The Pinarayi Vijayan government offered her a poor deal despite the connections.
It took the court to provide justice for the mother in distress.
