In a shocking incident, unknown assailants threw bombs at Penukonda MLA Shankar Narayana’s car, however the bomb did not explode, averting a potential accident.The incident occurred in Gaddam Tanda of Gorantla Mandal while MLA Shankar Narayana was traveling in his car with his staff.
While MLA Shankar Narayan was traveling in a car with his staff, the assailants threw bombs.A police case has been registered and an accused has been arrested and an investigation is underway.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that an electrical detonator was thrown at MLA Shankar Narayana.It was found that it did not explode due to lack of power supply.
Gorantla CI Subbarayudu made it clear that the detonator was thrown under the influence of alcohol.The name of the assailant has been identified as Ganesh who belongs to Gudipalli village of Somandepalli mandal.
Police made it clear that a comprehensive investigation has been conducted into the incident.
Speaking to media, MLA Shankar Narayana said that whoever is behind the assassination should be arrested.
He demanded that the police investigate the conspiracy aspect.He said that he survived the accident by God’s grace.
He said that if the detonator had exploded, there would have been a fatal incident.
MLA Shankar Narayana said that he felt this attack was done because his popularity was growing in the constituency and culprits could not bear it.
