New Delhi (12/12/2008) A Delhi Police officer saved a 21-year old woman who attempted suicide by locking herself in the bathroom of her home.Official says that a PCR was placed at Najafgarh Police Station at 9:51 a.m.Saturday.It stated that the female went to the toilet at 7 a.m.She has not come out since and isn’t responding to any family members.
Constable Amit immediately recognized the gravity of the situation and was directed to the location.
The police officer arrived on the scene quickly and opened the bathroom door to discover that Shruti had cut her wrist.Blood was still oozing from the wound.
After the woman had been rushed to hospital, doctors said she wouldn’t have made it if there hadn’t been a bit more time.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shankar Choudhary lauded the constable’s efforts, saying his prompt action had saved the woman’s life.
