New Delhi, Nov 13 : Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra, Paralympics gold medallist Sumit Antil, and woman cricketer Mithali Raj along with nine other sportspersons were conferred the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award — the country’s highest sporting honour — at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Saturday.New Delhi, Nov 13, 2012 : Olympic gold-medalist Neeraj Chopra and Paralympics gold-medalist Sumit Antil, as well as Mithali Raj, a woman cricketer, were presented with the Major Dhyan Chaud Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting award in India, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.While an unprecedented 35 athletes were honoured with the Arjuna Award in a glittering ceremony.In a glittering ceremony, 35 athletes were awarded the Arjuna award.

The Paralympics heroes were also present as President Ram Nath Kovind presented them with the Khel Ratna Awards.

The Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement went to athlete Lekha KC, chess Grandmaster Abhijeet Kunte, Davinder Singh Garcha (hockey), Vikas Kumar (kabaddi), and Sajjan Singh (wrestling).The Dhyan Chand Award For Lifetime Achievement was presented to Lekha KC, an athlete, and chess Grandmaster Abhijeet Kunte.
