This is a result of Google’s deliberate strategy to provide better battery life.
According to The Verge, it follows an Android Authority report that found the maximum power draw of the phone was 22W.This is far less than the 30W Google’s new USB-C charging brick can technically charge.

Google spokesperson confirmed that Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro have a maximum power draw of 21W each when charged with the 30W USB-C brick.

He also said that charges speed decrease as phones get fuller to maintain their durability.

The company stated in a post to community support that the figures were the result of battery tradeoffs.

The spokesperson stated that a battery could be made for high energy density or fast charging power capabilities. This requires trading capacity in order to minimize battery degradation.

A phone cannot offer both fast charging and long battery life.Google prioritized a longer battery-life and made the phones draw less power to charge.

Pixel 6 has a 6.4 inch OLED display.Pixel 6 Pro features a 6.7 inches LTPO display.Both will have a variable refresh rate of 10Hz to 120Hz.
