Srinagar 26 December : .Officials have confirmed that the killer of a Police officer was one of the terrorists eliminated in Kashmir’s four recent anti-terrorist operation.According to police, the joint search and cordon operation launched on Saturday by 3 RR and the army’s Police based on the specific information they received about the terrorist presence in Kalan Sirgufwara village of Anantnag.
He was allowed to surrender several times during the operation as he became aware of the terrorist’s presence.
Police said that he refused to surrender and fired on the joint search team indiscriminately, leading to an encounter.
The terrorist trapped in the encounter was shot and killed, while his body was recovered from the scene of the encounter.
Faheem Bhat, who is a Kandipora, Anantnag resident, has been identified.He was associated with the proscribed terror group ISJK.
Police stated that it was pertinent to note that the terrorist who killed ASI Mohammad Ashraf in the vicinity of Police Station Bijbehara had just joined terror group ISJK.
His possession contained incriminating material, such as ammunition and arms.
Interestingly, six terrorists were defeated by joint police/security forces teams in successful, anti-terrorist operation.
