SS Rajamouli, the director of blockbuster films such as Baahubali, RRR, and Magadheera, has been working on a much-anticipated movie based on the Indian epic Mahabharata.During a recent event, he spoke about his plans for the film and how he intends to tackle the challenge of directing a story that is longer than a 200-episode serial.
Rajamouli acknowledged that simply reading all the different versions of the epic would take almost a year.However, he revealed that he envisions the Mahabharata as a ten-part movie.
When asked if he was making the film to please his fans and the media, Rajamouli asserted that making the Mahabharata was the aim of his life.He sees every film he has ever made as a lesson in what to do for the Mahabharata.
Business tycoon Anand Mahindra recently tweeted photos of the Indus Valley Civilisation and requested that Rajamouli create a film based on it.Rajamouli replied that he had already considered making a similar movie but had not been able to obtain permission to visit Mohenjodaro, a site of ancient ruins in Pakistan.
SS Rajamouli’s vision for a ten-part Mahabharata film is ambitious, but given his track record with epic films, fans are eager to see what he will create.His dedication to the project and his desire to make it for himself, rather than simply to please his audience, bode well for the success of the film.
