T’gana announces the distribution of 1.20 cr flags for the nation’s flag

Hyderabad 9 August : In the course of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence the Telangana government of Telangana has on Tuesday, began the process of distribution of 1.20 million national flags.
Officials in the 33 districts of the state began the distribution of free copies of flags, created by powerlooms and weavers in the state.The distribution program will continue until August 14 and is monitored by district collectors.

The municipal administration department is in charge of the distribution process in urban areas, whereas the panchayat Raj department has been assigned the task of rural areas.Both departments have set up special teams to accomplish this.

The panchayat raj department designated one official as well as staff to oversee the distribution of Tricolour to each 100 houses.For every five grams panchayat one official will be in charge of the distribution.

Minister for animal husbandry T.Srinivas Yadav distributed the national flag during an event held at Necklace Road on the banks of Hussain Sagar in the middle of Hyderabad.

The laying of flags of the nation is a part of “Swatantra Bharata Vasjrotsava Dwi Saptaham or the two-week-long celebrations that are being organized by the state government to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Independence.

Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday officially kicked off the celebrations with the hoisting of the flag of the nation at an enthralling ceremony at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).

Srinivas Yadav declared that as part of celebrations there were various programs such as Vana Mahotsavam, Freedom Run, Raksha Bandhan, Rangoli fireworks, and distribution of fruits to patients in government-run hospitals.

The minister also announced that the national song will be played at all traffic intersections at 11 a.m.on Independence Day.The government also announced that a special meeting of every elected body ranging from local bodies to the Assembly will be held on the 21st of August.

Minister of Education P.Sabitha Indra Reddy together with Celebration Committee chairman K.Keshava Rao and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar were present in the distribution of flags at Maheshwaram close to Hyderabad.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) began the distribution of national flags in Greater Hyderabad.

The corporation will distribute about 20 lakh flags.

Srinivas Yadav GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, and GHMC Commissioner Lokesh program in Secunderabad.

Similar events were held in various parts of the capital city of the state.Representatives from the state legislature and officials also took part in the activities.

State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has also devised elaborate arrangements for the distribution of the flag.All employees, both contract and regular of the mines have been instructed to place the flag on top of their homes.

Officials have put up 70 000 flags to be distributed for free.
