Osaka (Japan) Sep 2 : Olympic champion Chen Yufei will take on two-time world champion Akane Yamaguchi in the semis of the Japan Open on Saturday in the replay of the world championships on Sunday singles women’s final.
Chen defeated Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 21-17 and 21-6, setting up the possibility of a showdown with Chen.

Chen beat Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 21-17, 21-6 Japanese famous, who knocked out Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand 21-18 and 21-18.

Another semifinal match will be played between second seed Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei and the third seed An Seyoung of South Korea.

Tai defeated 8th seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-19 21-18.

In the male section China’s Shi Yuqi, playing his second tournament following the release of an indefinite suspension of 10 months was a breeze over Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand 21-6 21, 13.

World silver medalist in 2018 will meet the fourth seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei, who was able to overcome a fierce competition by India’s H.S.Prannoy to win 21-17, 21-17 and 22-20.

The other semifinal is a match between Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto against third seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark.

Nishimoto defeated Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo of Indonesia 14-21 21-17, 21-17, 21-18, and Antonsen defeated Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama 21-11 21, 21-12.
