Vizag, 2nd August 2022: As a part of CSR initiatives, Vedanta’s VGCB supported Queen Mary’s Government Girl’s School, Visakhapatnam to upgrade school infrastructure.Vedanta’s VGCB handed over 9 computer systems to school for setting up a computer lab and appointed a trainer for imparting basic computer training to all students.
Further, the company also supported school through supply & installation of solar power system which will help in meeting the school electricity requirement through green energy source – ‘solar power’.These school infrastructure development initiatives by Vedanta’s VGCB, were inaugurated and formally handed over to the school authority by Dr.Shirin Rahman, Founding Chairperson – Chaitanya Sravanthi in the distinguished presence of Ms.Korra Suvarna, Mandal Education Officer, Vizag, Mr.Surada Thatha Rao, Ward President YSRCP, Mr.Kathiri Appa Rao, Fishermen Community Leader and Mr.C.Sateesh Kumar, CEO, Vizag General Cargo Berth (VGCB)
These CSR initiatives by Vedanta’s VGCB will benefit over 500 girl students of the present batch and will continue to benefit the students of future batches as well.These unique programs towards upliftment of education were highly appreciated by the school authority, teachers, parents, and students.Mr.

They also supported King George hospital with a holter machine and have supported the school with a computer lab and solar power.VGCB deserves appreciation for all the thoughtful initiatives they have taken.”
